How to turn WordPress into a CMS

  1. Turn off comments (and comment-feeds) - make sure the only form that appears is called contactform.
  2. Turn off trackbacks. (Although it’s a nice underused feature… kick it out of your CMS-driven site. It only seems to be compatible with blogger-nerds)
  3. remove all geekstuff like tagging, too-many RSS-Links, login-links, etc. (or even better: turn them into something useful for your cms. eg: tags could still be used for a pages’ meta-keywords)
  4. last but not least: get yourself a static front page.

Thats it. :-D

This list isn’t really serious nor complete - what shouldn’t keep you from considering this list helpful. Anyway, i’d just like to point out that the platform is quite useful for this purpose.
